Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021
LiveEdit, the Heart of a Revolutionary Workflow
Thanks to Valentina, who won the 2020 edition with her song “J’imagine”, France had the privilege to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Paris. The first time since 1978!
Like the adult version, this youth edition is extremely demanding regarding creativity and all the participating countries had high level demands for producing their acts and making all together the best JESC ever. LiveEdit has been used by the entire creative and production crew for preparing and conceptualizing the show from September to the broadcast.
For the first time the delegations have been invited to prepare their performances directly in the LiveEdit App thanks to the collaborative mode while the confidentiality of each act was preserved.
The stand-in rehearsals have been recorded directly by the LiveEdit Producer Max hardware and distributed to all the delegations using MyLiveEdit, the integrated online reviewing platform. All the delegations pushed their comments directly to the timelines using MyLiveEdit: groundbreaking workflow for a Eurovision Song Contest.
The 16 cameras were equipped with iPads running Showtime X, the perfect cameraman companion that displays all the shots instructions with comments and reviewing capabilities.
The show has been produced using two redundant LiveEdit Producer Max controlling a Sony XVS-8000 switcher via IP protocol, while a LiveEdit Producer Lite was used in the Viewing Room for debriefing the delegations. The LiveEdit system was also in charge of running the Show Timecode and the backing tracks.
Armenia won the contest with 224 points with the song "Qami Qami" performed by Maléna. Take a look at her winning performance:
