Sony MVS-8000 Protocol

The Sony MVS-8000 protocol is an evolution of the MVS-DVS, designed for the MVS-8000A/G series to accommodate its increased input and output capabilities

Mixer Connection

The connection between the Production Server and the mixer is established through a serial connection that complies with the RS-422 standard. Connect to one of the Remote ports located on the switcher frame.

Tip: There are two menus to check on the Sony switcher. On Page 3211, ensure that the Remote port you are using is activated. Also, verify on Page 7337.1 that the remote port is assigned to Editor A.

Sources

All 80 sources of the switcher are available in LiveEdit.

LiveEdit calls for the Main Table sources. Please ensure to verify that your Main Table recalls the Sources from 1 to 80 in a 1:1 correspondence. The crosspoints of the Main Table can be checked on Page 7322.5 in the Sony Menu. This ensures consistency between the sources selected on the mixer and those used in LiveEdit.
